When I adopted Puff six years ago during the pandemic, he was just a tiny ball of fluff who immediately became the center of my world. Now he's my constant companion, burrowing into my sweaters while I work and calling from the other room when he wants me to chase him around our apartment.

Last week was terrifying. Puff has had urinary issues before, so when I saw him straining in the litter box, I rushed him to the emergency vet. The diagnosis was severe constipation requiring two enemas and an overnight hospital stay. The X-rays were honestly horrifying. They also found elevated liver values that we're still trying to understand.

He came home on four different medications, and while the immediate crisis has passed, he needs ongoing follow-ups with our regular vet to ensure he's truly out of the woods. Between the emergency visit, multiple X-rays, bloodwork, enemas, medications, and overnight care, the bill came to $3,700. I put it on my credit card without hesitation – there was no other choice – but I'm struggling with this financial hit. Any help getting Puff back to his playful, laid-back self would mean so much to us.
