When Dr. Keaten first met Pepper just a month ago at Norway Veterinary Hospital, she knew this sweet 20-week-old Great Dane needed someone to fight for her. At only 8 weeks old, she suffered severe bite injuries that fractured her mandible and zygomatic arch. As those bones healed, they fused together—now she can barely open her mouth half an inch and her right eye is non-visual.

Despite this challenge, Pepper's spirit shines through. She loves stealing shoes and soaking up attention, but she desperately needs complex surgery to live normally. In the coming weeks, she'll require a temporary tracheostomy since traditional anesthesia is impossible with her restricted jaw opening. Dr. Keaten and Dr. Pike will then carefully remove the fused bone to restore her jaw function. We will then see if her eye can stay or if it also needs to be removed.

The surgical supplies and specialized care total $5,000. We have the expertise and equipment for this intricate procedure, but we need your help covering the costs. Every dollar goes directly toward giving Pepper the chance at a full, comfortable life she deserves.

This incredible puppy has already overcome so much. Please help us give her the future she's fighting for.
