Help Gizmo Heal: Surgery for a Second Chance
Organized by
Patricia Ballard
My sweet Gizmo has been my constant companion for two years, and he's not like any cat I've ever known. He plays fetch like a dog and gives the most incredible hugs when I need them most. My favorite memory is watching him proudly carry his toy mouse back to me, tail high in the air.
Last week, Gizmo suddenly stopped eating and became lethargic. After an emergency vet visit and abdominal X-rays, we discovered he has a complete intestinal blockage that requires immediate exploratory surgery. The veterinarian explained that without an emergency enterotomy procedure to remove the obstruction, Gizmo could face life-threatening complications within days.
The estimated cost is $6,000, which includes the surgery, anesthesia, post-operative monitoring, and recovery care. As someone living on social security, this amount feels impossible. We're already struggling to make ends meet each month.
Gizmo has brought so much joy and comfort to my life. He doesn't deserve to suffer because of our financial situation. Any help toward his surgery would mean the world to us both.
The funds will be sent to this hospital for treatment
