Help Alanis Walk Again: Healing a Brave Kitten
Organized by
Katie Moore
Five days ago, a good Samaritan found Alanis abandoned in a lumber yard with a broken leg. This tiny 8-week-old kitten should have been learning to play, but instead she was fighting for survival with a fractured limb. Despite everything she's endured, Alanis shows incredible bravery that takes my breath away.
What strikes me most is how quickly she learned to trust again. The moment I gained her trust and she melted into my arms, purring softly despite her pain, I knew I couldn't let her down. She has the spirit of a lion wrapped in the sweetest, most loving little body.
Our veterinarian recommends splinting with weekly visits for the next three to four weeks, including splint changes and repeat X-rays to monitor bone healing. With successful treatment, she could regain up to 90% use of her leg. Without it, she faces potential amputation.
The total estimated costs are near $3000. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we were able to immediately cover the initial emergency care of over $1000. However, the costs are adding up quickly and every dollar will help her in recovery.
The funds will be sent to this hospital for treatment
